Tushar has worked with the country’s largest commercial bank—The State Bank of India—from 1983 to 2018. His excellent decision-making capability and leadership led him to the factoring subsidiary of State Bank of India-SBI Global Factors Ltd. and helped factoring gain a firmer foothold in the Indian financial markets after the enactment of the Factoring Regulation Act, 2011.

Tushar has introduced newer products like bank guarantee backed factoring, which help smaller businesses monetize their non-funded bank limits and improve their working capital resources. He also succeeded in empowering the smaller exporters by helping them reach out to overseas markets without worrying about the collection of export receivables by developing the export factoring market under FCI’s Two Factor Model. It was his hard work that brought FCI’s attention to the potential of India as a global trade hub.

Eventually, in 2016, Tushar was appointed as the Managing Director & CEO of SBI Global Factors Ltd. and was also elected as the first ever Director to the FCI Board from India. He was also the Chairman of the Factors Association of India until 2018.

A graduate in Commerce and Law from Mumbai University and a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers, Tushar always seemed to have a clear vision of the banking industry. His wife, Khyati, is a veteran WFH (work from home) specialist and their only son is pursuing his doctorate in High Energy Physics at Brown University, Rhode Island, USA.

Apart from the seriousness of life and professional uprightness, both Tushar and Khyati love travelling, reading, the cinema, and music.
